About Scissors

Established in 1969 by local entrepreneurs, Robert and Kathy Dinham, Scissors is Macclesfield’s longest-standing high fashion salon. Relocated by new owners Paul Roberts & Diane Key in 1985, Scissors has continued to flourish in its new home on Samuel Street ever since. Expanding to encompass ever more services and stylings, Scissors can now boast of a complete Hair and Beauty offering. Catering to men and women of all ages and all styles, Scissors is the place to go find your style and embrace your beauty!

The Scissors Team frequently attend training courses delivered by Wella, Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy and Patrick Cameron. In-house training is also supplied Diane Key, who also trains up and coming hair stylists at Macclesfield College.

Meet the Team


Senior Stylist

‘I am an experienced, senior stylist who is passionate about classic cutting. I have over 14 years experience as a hairdressing technician at Macclesfield College. I enjoy the mix of working in a salon, whilst at the same time helping to introduce new talent into the industry.’


    Creative Stylist

    ‘I am a creative hair stylist, with over 30 years’ experience. Formally of Quartz, Terence & Susan and Philip John hair dressing salons, I have a wide and varied knowledge of professional hair styling. I specialise in Joico Color and Joico Haircare products.’


      Senior Stylist, Owner

      ‘I am the salon owner, and senior stylist with over 30 years’ experience in male and female hairdressing, combining classic and contemporary looks. A good cut and condition of hair are paramount to all Scissors staff, which is why we use professional products.’


        Senior Creative Stylist

        ‘I work to keep abreast of new trends and cutting styles in an aim to transfer them down to an ‘easy to maintain’ at home style for my clientele. I use the Goldwell colour range and have attended the KPSS Mayfair academy to further my hairdressing repertoire. Alongside creating a bespoke cut and finish for my clientele, I enjoy doing colourwork and learning new techniques.’

          ‘I bring 30 years experience from various salons across Macclesfield. I provide a one to one service for cutting, colouring and blow drying. I love my job, and
          it transpires through my work.’


            Senior Stylist

            I have a wealth of experience in all aspects of hairdressing, I love cutting and colouring hair. I have always used Wella products and have trained on numerous courses at their Academy in Manchester to keep my skills up to date. I have also achieved Wella’s top accolade of The Master Colour Award and successfully completed my training as an Assessor in Hairdressing. I married in to a long established hairdressing family business that specialised in helping people with hair loss problems, and continue to do so today.


              Stylist, Colour Technician & Assistant

              ‘I’m a stylist, colour technician and salon assistant with over 40 years experience. I have both the Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ diploma in hairdressing and Level 2 in barbering, meaning I’m qualified in male and female cut, colour, colour correction and bridal styling. I specialise in using Wella products and most recently completed their ‘Ultimate Balayage’ course.’


                Stylist, Colour Technician, Assistant & Beautician

                ‘I am level 3 qualified hairdresser and beautician who trained as an apprentice. I have a passion for cutting, colour and blow drying. I have had continuously trained with Wella on Nioxin, System Professional, colour, cutting and hair loss. I was also trained in wigs at Trendco.’



                  ‘I’ve been in the Beauty industry for 12 years, with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I specialise in skin care, nails, waxing, aromatherapy massage, Indian head massage, make up and much more using the most up to date advanced professional products available.’
